Winter Fun

The resort of Kirchberg has its own small beginner and intermediate lifts on the Gaisberg, and offers access to the Hahnenkamm in 3 different areas. First the  two-stage chairlift,  the Fleckanbahn  gondola  and a second gondola that rises from a  car park between Kirchberg and Aschau taking you directly to Pengelstein  There is a new Gondola  connecting  Kitzbuhel with the larger Skiwelt area.  This can be accessed by taking a free 5 minute bus trip up the valley from Kirchberg towards Aschau  with its direct link to its near neighbour Westendorf.

For those that prefer Snow boarding, the Kitzbuheler Horn is the place to go . It has its own play area for boarders including a half pipe. Again this can be accessed by either catching the free ski bus to the Horn, or riding to the top of the Hahnenkamm and dropping down back in to Kitzbuhel and catching the ring bus across to the Horn. They run approximately every ten minutes between 8am and 6 in the evening. Kirchberg has three ski schools: Skischool Total, Skischool Kirchberg and Aktiv. Details of these and the prices of ski passes etc can be can be viewed on the official Kirchberg web site.  There are also some web cams on that site allowing you the facility of seeing what the snow conditions are in resort.

The night life in Kirchberg can be as quiet or as lively as you want it. There are over 20 Bars/restaurants to keep you busy in the evening. The price of a beer starts at 2.5€   From the Maerl ski lift you can ski back to within 50 metres of the house and  even on the way back from that point you will pass two watering holes. And of course there is Kitz itself. This would involve a 10 min taxi ride back if you ski directly to Kitz and enjoy the après- ski.
